I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of a school community with such dedicated staff, supportive families, and amazing students. Together, we create a place where children are encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive.
At Cobblestone, our goal is to provide every student with a high-quality educational experience in a safe, caring, and positive environment. We are committed to helping each child reach their full potential while fostering a love of learning that will last a lifetime.
I believe that strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student success. Your involvement, encouragement, and support make a tremendous difference in your child's educational journey. I encourage you to stay connected with your child's teacher and to be an active part of our school community throughout the year.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences. Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of our students and ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed.
Sincerely,
Matt Murphy

Absences
Daily school attendance is essential for student success. Parents must clear absences within 5 days or they will be marked as truant. Any absence after the 14th cumulative day of absences will require a medical note to be cleared as excused.
Independent Study
A student who will be absent for 3 or more consecutive school days is eligible for Short Term Independent Study. Please contact the school office as soon as possible to file a contract. Contracts are not available during the first two weeks or the last three weeks of school.
Tardies
Students must check in at the office if they arrive late. Repeated tardiness can be grounds for revocation of transfer agreements and referral to the District Attendance Review Board.
Tuesday Folders & ParentSquare
Plastic "Tuesday Folders" serve as the mailbox for important physical flyers. Our primary system for digital school communications, real-time alerts, and class updates is the ParentSquare app.
Volunteers
We welcome parents to complete our 10-hour volunteer goal. For student safety, all volunteers must submit proof of TB testing and undergo a fingerprint background check through the district office prior to participating in campus activities.
Emergency Contact Cards
Student emergency details must be kept active in the Aeries Parent Portal. Students will not be released to any individual not designated explicitly on the portal card.
Arrival & Dismissal Guidelines
Morning entry begins at 7:40 a.m. as music plays; school starts promptly at 7:50 a.m. Parents must say goodbye at entry gates. For drop-off/pick-up: Always use designated crosswalks, do not make U-turns on Cobblestone Drive, and do not block the fire lane. Dogs and other pets are strictly prohibited from campus.
Universal Meals
Cobblestone participates in the California Universal Meals Program, providing free breakfast and lunch daily to all enrolled students. A second student meal costs $6.00, and a la carte milk costs $0.50.
Bus Pass Information
General Education and Special Needs Bus Pass applications must be filed on the district website annually. For pass information, contact the Transportation Department at buspass@rocklinusd.org or call (916) 624-9106.
Medication Policy
All prescription and over-the-counter medications must be signed in by a parent, accompanied by signed doctor's instructions, and locked in the health office. Students are not allowed to carry any form of medication on campus, except designated inhalers or Epi-Pens with active medical orders on file.
Mandated Screenings
Our district health services oversee visual and auditory health checks across TK, Kindergarten, 2nd, and 5th-grade levels.
The Cougar Code
Our School-Wide Positive Behavior (PBIS) system utilizes three base expectations:
- Show Respect: Keep areas clean, be honest, and use inclusive language.
- Make Good Decisions: Follow directions the first time and keep your body to yourself.
- Solve Problems: Use Rock-Paper-Scissors (Ro-Sham-Bo), utilize "Stop, Walk, and Talk", and report dangers to staff immediately.
Mobile & Cellular Device Policies
Cellular devices, including phones and smartwatches, must remain turned off and inside student backpacks during school hours. Devices violating this restriction will be confiscated and kept in the office for parental collection.
